Sometimes it’s tough to figure out which appliance manufacturer actually manufactured a specific item. When it comes to the longevity of your appliance and the expense of keeping it operational, the answer to that question is critical. The parent company is a term used to refer to the largest appliance manufacturing corporations in existence today. Another group of appliance brands associated with the same parent company is included under “subsidiary appliance brands.” For more information on appliance brand reliability statistics by appliance type, see “New Appliance Shopping Tips.” For technical reference, user manuals, part numbers, dimension guides, and installation instructions by brand, see “Technical Reference, User Manuals, Part Numbers, Dimension Guides, and Installation Instructions by Brand.” To learn more, please visit this page.

Today’s top 5 appliance brandsby volume
If you walk into any appliance showroom, you’ll quickly see that five large appliance companies dominate the mainstream market. Whirlpool, Electrolux, GE, LG, and Samsung are household appliance brands that everyone is familiar with. Most people are unaware of whose corporation owns a specific brand, though.
The company easily outperforms the competition when it comes to acquiring a number of well-known appliance brands. It all began in 1911 with the Upton Machine Company, a Michigan-based appliance manufacturer that specialized in electrically-powered wringer washing machines. The Upton Washer Company amalgamated with the Nineteen Hundred Washer Company in 1919. Soon after, the new business acquired control of the Seeger Refrigerator Company as well as the RCA Corporation, according to the Success Storymagazine website.
In 1986, General Electric repurchased RCA and renamed it RCA. Whirlpool Corporation now owns the Jenn-Air, Maytag, Amana, Roper, and KitchenAid brands, as well as the Whirlpool Corporation trademark.
For more than a century, Electroluxbrand products have made housework simpler for people everywhere. With its roots in Sweden, the Electrolux firm now owns the Frigidaire, Tappan, Kelvinator, and Gibson appliance brands, in addition to other names. In 2014, Electrolux attempted to buy the General Electric appliances division for more over $3 billion in cash, but the deal fell through. Because the combination of the two businesses would establish an unfair monopoly in the American home appliances industry, the agreement was thrown out by the Department of Justice in the United States.

Therefore, it may be difficult to discern between the two and choose which brand would be the most appropriate for your kitchen.
We’ll also provide our recommendations for the top refrigerator models from each manufacturer. The Best LG versus Samsung Refrigerators on the Market
Overview of Samsung and LG Refrigerators
Despite the fact that Samsung and LG were not well-known companies 10 years ago, they are now two of the top home appliance manufacturers available on the market. Samsung is one of the world’s most successful electronic corporations, with a market capitalization of over $1 trillion. Samsung has a considerable part of the appliance industry as a result of their product innovation, stylish product design, and high-quality product offerings. When you purchase a Samsung refrigerator, you are getting top-of-the-line craftsmanship and design.
In terms of innovation, the LG refrigerator is the only one that can compete with Samsung’s offerings.
When selecting a refrigerator for your house, there are a number of important considerations that should be taken into consideration before making your final decision.
What Door Configurations Are Available?
Ten years ago, Samsung and LG were not well-known household names; now, they are two of the most reliable names in the industry. One of the most successful electronics firms in the world, Samsung is a South Korean company with headquarters in Seoul. You receive top-of-the-line craftsmanship and design flair when you purchase a Samsung refrigerator. Moreover, they are quite dependable, and they come with a variety of additional features that make them more user-friendly.
They not only provide high-quality items, but they also follow through on their commitment to make users’ lives simpler.
These considerations include the type of refrigerator, its design, and any additional features it may provide.
- French door refrigerators, side-by-side refrigerators, bottom freezer refrigerators, top freezer refrigerators, and other types of refrigerators are all available.
Starting with their unique door layouts, Samsung and LG refrigerator models have completely transformed the market. Configurations for the Samsung Refrigerator’s Doors Samsung prefers to group their refrigerators into the following categories:
- In addition to side by side and French door, there are four-door French doors and four-door Flex (a technology that allows you to simply convert from freezer to refrigerator).

Which is More Stylish?
The LG and Samsung refrigerator models, as previously said, are quite similar in terms of design and operation. However, while LG may have the advantage in terms of new features, Samsung may have a tiny advantage in terms of appearance and style, thanks to their work in developing handleless (or pocket handle) refrigerators. As a result, they are an excellent match for any kitchen. A brief aside on the subject of handles. When it comes to purchasing appliances, the majority of consumers do not give much thought to the handle design.
So, if you are just replacing an old or damaged refrigerator, be sure that the new refrigerator you are considering is compatible with the rest of your appliances and the hardware in your kitchen.
Do LG and Samsung Have Both Counter-Depth vs Standard Depth Fridges?
Yes, counter-depth and full-depth versions are available from both companies. Both LG and Samsung are well-known for manufacturing the greatest counter-depth refrigerator models available on the market. Counter-depth versions are designed to fit perfectly into the cabinet space, resulting in a smooth finish in the kitchen. Full- or standard-depth models protrude from the cabinet, making it difficult for kitchen cabinet designers to produce a personalized and seamless appearance. This topic is covered in greater depth in our article on the counter-depth vs standard depth refrigerator design, which also includes illustrations.
The LG LFDS22520S and the Samsung RF28R6301SR are two standard-depth versions to choose from.
Do Either Have Any Unique Finishes
Appliances from LG are available in a variety of finishes, including matte black stainless steel, black stainless steel, stainless steel, smooth white, platinum silver, and the LG Signature Textured Steel finish, among others. There are a variety of finishes available for Samsung refrigerators, including the following: white, black, stainless platinum, stainless steel, fingerprint resistant stainless steel, fingerprint resistant black steel, and the fingerprint-resistant Tuscan Stainless Steel finish.
The rich color palette of the Tuscan region fits into and enhances any kitchen décor, adding a sense of elegance to the room.
What Unique Features Does Each Brand Have?
Despite the fact that most refrigerator manufacturers have characteristics that are similar to one another, they all have certain features that are unique to them. This is also true for refrigerators from Samsung and LG, among other brands.
Unique Features of Samsung Refrigerators
Despite the fact that most refrigerator manufacturers have characteristics that are similar to one another, they all have some aspects that are exclusive to them.
This is also true for refrigerators made by Samsung or LG.
Unique Features of LG refrigerators
LG, on the other hand, is a touch more forward-thinking and retains a number of distinguishing characteristics.
