Use real-time text (RTT) with calls
Real-time text (RTT) allows you to converse with someone over the phone while using text. There are no additional accessories required for RTT to function in conjunction with TTY. I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone. Real Time Text, or RTT for short, is a function that has been integrated in the program. This is not an application that I have downloaded, and there is no way to turn it off. It is designed to allow hearing challenged individuals to type or receive text messages while on the phone. It appears that this function has a mind of its own and will start up at random when you are on a voice call. When this occurs, the call is severely disrupted, and it is almost always necessary to end it.

- Dear all those who are suffering with RTT- Google help is completely ineffective, as they have locked all posts on RTT. Samsung’s customer service department does not even understand the menus on its phones. According to this topic and other sites, if your caller has RTT turned on, you will immediately get it when they call (unconfirmed). The RTT function on my Galaxy S10+ does not have an off button. Recently, the default dialer on Verizon/Samsung got a UI hit, and it was a bad one. I installed the Google dialer, and while the user interface was improved, RTT was present on every call.
